2005: Easton Neston Estate sold

This century's main Parish news has been the break up and sale of the 1330 hectare Easton Neston estate; the Fermor Hesketh family home for nearly 500 years.

Easton Neston House retained the surrounding 200 hectares of park and farmland but the largest portion of the estate has been broken up and sold off in lots with some resold as extremely small parcels of land.

The sale of Easton Neston estate prompted a re-appraisal by South Northamptonshire Council, supported by the Parish Meeting, of the Hulcote Conservation Area which led to the imposition in 2006 of additional planning controls in the village.
